Books I love:

When the Body Says No by Gabor Mate

Why I Recommend When the Body Says No
This powerful book opened my eyes to the deep connection between unexpressed emotions and physical health. Gabor Maté brilliantly explores how stress, trauma, and emotional suppression can manifest in the body, especially in chronic illness. It challenged me to look more honestly at how I was managing my emotions—and in doing so, it supported real shifts in my own health. A must-read for anyone living with chronic illness or working to understand the mind-body connection.

It’s also a must read for therapists and physician’s alike to help understand their patients.

Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer

Why I Love Braiding Sweetgrass
This beautiful book weaves together Indigenous wisdom, ecological science, and poetic storytelling in a way that gently reminds us what truly matters. Braiding Sweetgrass grounds me in gratitude, reciprocity, and connection—with the earth, with each other, and with the quiet wisdom we so often overlook. It’s both grounding and inspiring, and I return to it again and again.

Mental Health Must Haves

Mindsight ‘Breathing Buddha’ guided breathing tool

Why I love the Mindsight Breathing Buddha
It looks like a peaceful little lamp or decoration, but it’s actually a beautiful breathwork tool. The soft, color-changing light guides you through three different breathing techniques—box breathing (4-4-4-4), 4-7-8 breathing, and 5-5 breathing—making it easy to slow down and regulate your nervous system. And if you’re not in the mood for breathwork, it also works great as a calming night light. It’s both functional and aesthetically soothing. I use mine when I am noticing my stress levels rising during the day, or especially right away when I wake up…it’s like having a friend guide you through deep breaths to help calm you down during a panic.

Needoh Dream Drop

Why I love the NeeDoh Dream Drop
It’s like the perfect combo of slime and a stress ball—but without any of the mess. It has that squishy, soothing texture that’s incredibly satisfying to squeeze, stretch, or just hold in your hand. It lives in my office and has become a favorite for both my clients and me. Whether someone’s feeling anxious, fidgety, or just needs a little sensory break, the Dream Drop offers a fun and calming way to ground in the moment.

CONQUERing (Fidget Ring)

Why I Love the CONQUERing
This ring has truly been a game changer for me. More than just a fidget ring, it’s a beautifully designed, discreet tool that helps calm anxious energy and redirect nervous habits. You can spin the center when it’s off your finger or click it in and out while wearing it—plus, the interchangeable spinners make it feel personalized and fresh. As someone who used to struggle with skin picking to the point of injury, this ring has made a huge difference in my healing. It’s pretty, empowering, and incredibly helpful.

I wear it daily and often get compliments on it. If you’d like to get your own, use coupon code JENNIFER10874 for 10% off your order.

Chronic illness helpers

MyHalos Migraine Relief Cap

Why I Love the MyHalos Migraine Relief Cap
This cap has been a lifesaver for both me and my daughter. I use it for tension headaches, and it brings fast, soothing relief—like a cool, gentle hug for my head. My daughter struggles with PMS-related migraines, and this cap has become one of her go-to comforts during those tough days. It’s easy to use, reusable, and way more comfortable than an ice pack. It’s so handy, we have three so multiple people can use at the same time. These live in our freezer so they are ready to go when a headache strikes. We don’t go without it!

Arctice Air Neck cooler tubes

Why I love these neck coolers
They’re such a simple but powerful comfort tool. When I’m having a rheumatoid arthritis flare, they help keep my body cool and ease discomfort. They’re also amazing for managing menopausal night sweats—no cords, no mess, just cooling relief that lasts. They also freeze in EITHER the fridge or freezer in only 15 minutes! My kids even love wearing them in the summer to stay cool before the AC kicks on! They’ve become a staple in our house for staying comfortable and grounded through all kinds of heat. They’re also a wonderful tool for panic attacks or moments of overwhelm, helping to reset the vagus nerve and bring the body back into calm.

3 Tier Rolling Cart

Why I Love My Three-Tier Rolling Cart
This simple rolling cart has become an essential part of my flare-up care routine. I’ve stocked it with everything I might need when I’m not feeling my best—medications, comfort items, and easy-to-grab snacks to stay nourished. It rolls right next to my bed or couch when I need it most, and helps me feel more prepared, supported, and cared for during hard days. It’s small but mighty!
